Be A Go-Giver
Every Tuesday morning at 7:30am, members of Goldfinch Winslow attend a great meeting at JB’s Jerk Shack in Surfside Beach, SC. The meeting is open to everyone and it is part networking and part bookclub, as we go through the Go-Giver series of books. There is no membership fee, the book is free, and they even have breakfast. If you know me, then you know that if you combine the words free and food then I want to be there.
We just finished the Green Book that had incredible insight on on how to be a seller, but honestly it is how to be a better person. It shifts our focus from getting to giving (constantly and consistently providing value to others) is not only a fulfilling way to live life and conduct business, but the most rewarding way, as well.
There are about 31 chapters at around 5 pages each in each book. We do one chapter a week and learn insight from each other in our businesses. The ability to learn how to better serve our clients and community, from people in the community has an integral effect on our firm. The last Friday of each month, Goldfinch Winslow Law Firm holds a team meeting focused on how better to serve each other and our clients – the go-giver insights are being routinely implemented.
This coming Tuesday (tomorrow) we start a new book – the Red Book. I invite you to come and give. I encourage you to live your life serving others – not yourself – or as the Green Book concluded “Create value; touch lives; build networks; be real; stay open.”
